Adani Group's plan to redevelop Mumbai slum to go ahead after BJP-led alliance wins state elections
A multibillion-dollar plan by the Adani Group to redevelop India's largest slum in Mumbai is likely to move forward, despite owner Gautam Adani being charged with bribery and fraud in the US. This, as the BJP-led Mahayuti political alliance stormed to a landslide victory in November polls. The opposition had threatened to scrap the project if they came to power, alleging favouritism over Gautam Adani's close relationship with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Dharavi is home to about a million residents and thousands of businesses spread across more than 600 acres. Rebecca Bundhun reports.Â
