Budget 2025 debate: Yeo Wan Ling on support for women at home and in the workplace
The government should consider providing additional support to small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that employ a higher number of women. MP Yeo Wan Ling, who made this call in parliament on Thursday (Feb 27), said the targeted assistance for SMEs will align with the government's push for larger families and increased workforce participation for women. Ms Yeo said while much has been done to support women and caregivers and make the workplace an inclusive one, Singapore still has “miles to go”. Ms Yeo told the House that the National Trades Union Congress remains dedicated to ensuring that all women receive the support they need to “reach for the stars” at home and in the workplace.
