Choo Pei Ling on Tobacco (Control of Advertisements and Sale) (Amendment) and Other Matters Bill

In parliament on Friday (Mar 6), MP Choo Pei Ling highlighted that the creation of a specific psychoactive substances framework ensures that enforcement can respond swiftly as substances evolve. She also said that with Singapore being a trade and travel hub, the government must anticipate concealment methods, storage networks and cross-border sourcing. She sought clarification on how agencies will prioritise dismantling organised supply networks and measure disruption of these channels so that enforcement impact is visible and sustained, and she also welcomed the structured rehabilitation orders introduced in the Tobacco (Control of Advertisements and Sale) (Amendment) and Other Matters Bill.
