More must be done to improve and harmonise recycling in Singapore, said MP Abdul Muhaimin Abdul Malik in parliament on Tuesday (Mar 3). He called on the government to expand its green procurement frameworks to mandate minimum recycled content in construction materials, packaging and office supplies. He also suggested upgrading the blue bin system progressively through pilots in new estates, introducing organic waste segregation supported by smart bins with contamination sensors.
