Jessica Tan on MediShield Life Scheme (Amendment) Bill
It is important that healthcare remains affordable and there is adequate medical coverage, but our goal should be to stay healthy and not to have to use it often, said MP Jessica Tan. Speaking in Parliament on Monday (Nov 11), she urged Singaporeans to “do our part and lead healthy lifestyles” as this would not only lower healthcare costs but also improve their quality of life. She pointed out that the proposed expansion of MediShield Life coverage and benefits will help Singaporeans manage healthcare costs, especially for larger bills. She stressed the need to clearly communicate to patients on what they will be eligible for, and called for more support and advice on the appropriate coverage for healthcare insurance.
