PM Shigeru Ishiba stresses on Japan's survival, sustainability in his policy address
Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba delivered his policy address at the ordinary Diet session today. In his speech, he said he wants to ensure the survival and sustainability of the country. Mr Ishiba emphasised on revitalising the rural areas by attracting youth, forging closer collaboration between the public and private sector, as well as promoting innovation and the use of high technology. Leading a minority government, Mr Ishiba has the task of passing the country's largest-ever national budget worth nearly US$740 billion. Michiyo Ishida reports.
