Selected agencies to handle child protection cases from May 1
From May 1, 82 designated agencies will take the lead in managing child protection cases, under a new Child Protection Case Management framework. The move follows recommendations from a review into the death of four-year-old Megan Khung, aimed at improving accountability and expertise. A new Triage Assessment Panel will also resolve disagreements within six days. Sector leaders say the changes will sharpen training needs and strengthen oversight to better safeguard children. Chloe Teo reports.
