Tourist spending in Singapore set to hit all-time high for 2024
Visitor spending is on track to hit an all-time high for 2024. The Singapore Tourism Board said this aligns with its priority to grow tourism revenue, rather than visitor numbers. Receipts climbed 10% on-year to S$22.4 billion as of September 2024, with growth across all spending categories. The largest increase was in the sightseeing, entertainment and gaming category — driven in part by a slew of major concerts, as well as exhibitions and key leisure events. Visitor arrivals rose 21% on-year to 16.5 million last year, but that's only at about 86% of pre-COVID-19 levels. Visitors from China — who were also the biggest spenders — took the top spot, with over three million landing on Singapore's shores.
