Train disruption: Services on Thomson-East Coast Line have resumed normal operations, says SMRT
Train services on the Thomson-East Coast Line returned to normal by mid-afternoon on May 3 after six hours of disruption. At one point, the entire line was halted for around half an hour. Operator SMRT says a signalling fault occurred at around 6.55am, following overnight tests by original equipment manufacturer ALSTOM. A "minor delay" affected two stations before spreading along five stations between Caldecott and Orchard within an hour as SMRT worked to reset the system. Alexandra Anand with more.
